Resources That Help Me Focus on Jesus

These are not meant to be exhaustive or definitive—just a few tools and practices that have helped me remain anchored in Scripture, attentive in prayer, and focused on Christ. The goal is not to accumulate resources, but to remove distractions and return our attention to what matters most.

Scripture

The primary way we behold Christ is through His Word. Before anything else, this is the center.

  • ESV Study Bible

  • The Bible Recap (365 Reading Plan)

Consistency matters more than complexity. A simple, steady rhythm in Scripture over time is far more formative than occasional intensity.

Prayer

Prayer is not a task to complete, but a relationship to cultivate. These have helped shape both my understanding and practice of prayer.

  • Prayer — Timothy Keller

  • Power Through Prayer — E.M. Bounds

Both have been helpful in moving prayer from obligation into something more dependent, reverent, and continual.

The Global Church

The Church is far bigger than what we see locally. Staying aware of the global body of Christ helps cultivate humility, gratitude, and perspective.

  • Global church podcasts and updates

  • International ministry reports and testimonies

  • Various publications, such as Voice of the Martyrs, Open Doors, and similar ministry reports

It’s a reminder that God is at work far beyond our immediate context.

A Final Thought

Tools can be helpful, but they are never the goal. The aim is not to consume more, but to see Christ more clearly, believe His Word more deeply, and follow Him more faithfully.

Behold. Believe. Become.
